What is our Product?

A deep dive into what Belto is (or will be), how it works, and why it exists.

🧠 What is Belto?

Belto is an AI workspace designed specifically for classrooms—built to enable, not replace, student learning. At its core, Belto offers a structured environment where students can engage with AI responsibly, while educators maintain full control over how AI is used.

Instead of banning AI or letting it run wild, Belto gives schools the infrastructure to govern AI behavior, enforce academic integrity, and guide learning with purpose.

📝 Belto Doc — Student Workspace

Belto Doc is the core experience for students. It's an AI-powered writing and learning environment that encourages growth while keeping academic boundaries in place.

  • Structured AI Writing Workflow Students go through 3 guided stages:

    1. Structure Builder – Create outline and argument scaffold

    2. Gap-Filler – Refine body paragraphs with help from AI

    3. Reflection – Self-assess, with optional AI sentiment feedback

  • Sentiment Analysis Every response is sentiment-tagged by topic and stage to help instructors identify weak spots or frustration patterns in student learning.

  • Lecture-to-TikTok Summarizer Converts long lectures (PDFs, transcripts, etc.) into short-form TikTok-style videos for improved student engagement.

  • Debate AI Students can engage in structured, position-based argumentation. Tracks how their views evolve and generates feedback on logic and coherence.

  • Teach AI A Socratic tutor mode where students “teach back” material. Belto grades the accuracy, confidence, and depth of their explanation.

  • Policy-Governed Interaction Instructors set exact limits: max characters, AI access steps, source restrictions, generation counts, delay timers, etc. - and all those rules are enforced into the AI behavior.

  • Token + Time Logging All inputs/outputs are logged with timestamps, token counts, and user metadata.

🧑‍🏫 Admin Portal — Instructor & School Control Center

A backend control layer for educators and administrators to manage, configure, and audit AI use across their classrooms and institutions.

  • AI Policy Engine Define classroom-specific or school-wide rules on how and when students can use AI.

  • Enforcement Mode Hard restrictions on token count, generation access, resource limits, and usage timing—enforced at the system level.

  • Audit Trails & Usage Logs Full visibility into student activity, including what prompts were run, when, and under what context.

  • Sentiment-Based Curriculum Feedback Admins see aggregate sentiment insights by course/topic to identify which materials underperform or trigger confusion.

  • LMS Integration Belto integrates directly with platforms like Canvas, Blackboard or Moodle and Schoology, syncing rosters, assignments, and grades automatically.

  • School-Wide AI Governance Apply different rules for STEM, humanities, or test environments. Create policy templates and deploy across multiple classrooms instantly.

But how do you actually use Belto?
